“Yesterday I was staring at my four walls

ghettos got expensive

lately

there is need for luxury in place

where arguing and shootings are mere decoration

the ghetto experience requires good credit score

they must be safe from collaterals

which do not include homeless

high on rocks

motels and hookers on the rush hour

a woman is peeing naked

at the traffic light

while kids in the back

eat their snacks after school

The other day my landlord wrote me a letter

it goes: dear tenant, rent goes up

please pay and shut up

what I see is what I get

my 1980’s carpet is changing skin

the broken heater became Koon’s sculpture

broken buzzer for fugitives

broken pipes to keep optimal humidity

boiler breaks down too sometimes

laundry room looks creepy

by the way, dryer is out or order

this city is out of order”
